On Tuesday we decided to rent an ATV to really see the island. A guy at the resort told us about the trails that cover the island and the many Monasteries that are here to visit, so we decide the best way to see them was by ATV. We picked up the ATV in the town of Skiathos from a place that is owned by a Greek guy who has a Masters in Economics from Chicago...very interesting.

Sunday we took a boat tour around the island, 7 hours with multiple stops and secluded beaches for swimming. The water is still quite cold so only the hardy swim...obviously not us! ... the port but I am disappointed when I hear that this year it did not sail at all out of the port. The whole summer remains here tight, and I believe it is because of the economic crisis!

It is so near SKIATHOS….an island so beautiful with so much greenery, beauty and history. It is just 12 nautical miles. Indeed so pity to be tight in the port all this time!
