... I could see where the banks of the Yampa had been eroded by high waters. It is surprising to me that Colorado has the same monsoon season as Arizona. Usually the rains start right after July 4 and go through August. Sometimes they can last longer.

... or gondola ride to the top of the mountains where skiers purposely direct themselves down a very steep mountain side and call it entertainment. The sights from the mountain tops were spectacular. I want to come back in the winter time to just watch people. That would preclude a life threatening event of trying to ski down the mountain. Not happening, but good food and drink and people watching would be fun.

... to Rendezvous and "Chisholm Trail" to Four Points Hut on the map. These paths do cross ski trails so watch out for skiers coming down the hill. The easier of the two paths is heading to Rendezvous but if you are looking for a really good workout go to both!
*Word of caution- it is possible to get lost so be careful where the two trails split, snowshoers have been known to get lost and end up on a green ski trail by mistake
