Raining and overcast. Drove into Margaret River township and explored the shops. Had a great time browsing and dodging the rain and puddles. Came back for lunch and then planned to go to the Mammoth caves. The Margaret River region is home to over 100 caves of the Leeuwin Naturaliste Ridge formed by the flow of underground water. ... the special which was grain fed steak from NSW! Lol a bit silly but it was beautifully cooked and came with salads and sauces and we had a glass of wine to accompany each dish. Before we left we stopped in for scones, tea and a boysenberry pie at the Berry Farm down the road. Some little birds seemed to be permanent residence and ate sugar right out of our hands... ... to negotiate the price down but they had no sense of commerce so we drove away. Next possibility was Conto Camp courtesy of the National Parks WA... a camp set in the beautiful Karri forest of Margaret River at a very reasonable price... National Parks camp sites are not free in WA. The only problem was that, after visiting the toilet block (long drops), my dear wife was definitely not in the mood to camp out and with Damien's birthday coming up ...
