... man hier keine Woche Billigurlaub. Und Party am Strand gibt es auch nicht. Hotels sind nobel und teuer und die Apartments, die es hier tausendfach auf zig Etagen zu kaufen gibt kosten mehrere hundert tausende Dollar. Dafür hat man sicherlich einen überwältigenden Blick über eine der eindrucksvollsten Küsten Australiens. Und wer Geld hat, hat bekannter Weise noch lange keinen Stil. Hier fehlt auf jeden Fall genauso wie in Lloret irgendwas ...

... by 6am, 5am in Queensland (bloody cows!). Like many others starting the New Year a little worse for wear and in need of a sleep in. We had to sleep in our sunglasses to try and cheat an extra hour in bed.

Many of the other days, were the usual beach days with the expection of hearing there was a brown snake (one of the most deadly ones) just lingering around at the top of the beach. We spent most of that day in the water!

... Woody cry. Our fabulous neighbours in Billericay, John and Olwen, gave Elwood a one-eyed Thomas which he had coveted when we left the UK. That Thomas is still a firm favourite with Woody. ... so she decided to take me into the city centre to have a look around. We walked around Southbank, passing the Brisbane version of the London eye and crossing xhehxhd bridge to enter the city centre. We walked through Queen's street which is the main shopping street in. We came across a British shop which sold all the favourite chocolate bar, sweets and biscuits. ... par dage i Cairns tog vi bussen videre ned til Airlie Beach. Paa vej derned kunne vi se lidt oedelaeggelser fra oversvoemmelserne og cyklonen. Der var tag, der var faldet af huse, byskilte og traer der var vaeltet.
Fra Airlie Beach tog vi paa en 3-dages baadtur ud til Whit-sunday Islands og saa Whitehaven Beach, som er verdens flotteste strand med total hvidt sand og turkis vand.

Vi tog videre til Fraser Island, paa en vildt luksustur med privat ...
