... Climbed several mountains on my way from SLC to Wells: 5,910, 6960, 6114, and 5118 feet.

I arrived in Reno on July 3 to visit with the grand girls for several days.

July 7 - Overnight to Kings Beach on Lake Tahoe with grand girls, Bernadette, and B's mom.

July 9 -- Travel from Reno to Sacramento, CA, over Donner Summit (7239). It's all downhill from there.

... could dangle at me. When the Circus Circus hotel in Reno popped up with a "mobile deal" of $28 a night we jumped on it! And that is how Spread Eagle met the Big Top! Our rig got a much deserved night off and we got big, clean comfy beds that we could drop into as opposed to climb up to. On to Gardenerville for some good old fashioned family catch up ...

... a slope. We all had a go and I lost control at first but I got up and tried again and after a few turns I was an expert. We moved on from the easier slope to a steeper slope. Which I got the hang of pretty quickly and soon after that we travelled to the chairlift and went down a much longer and steeper slope. While we were skiing we had to do some turns to slow down. It worked but I need to try and make my turns ...

Lake of the Sky

... Along the way we stopped at several spots with beautiful vistas of the Lake, especially Emerald Bay. The 3-hour cruise took us to that beautiful Bay with its clear water. After the cruise we drove into Nevada along the eastern portion of the lake stopping in Carnelian Bay for another waterfront meal at Gar Woods. We enjoyed the view from our hotel until dark. Tomorrow, on to wine country.

... shovel). While Lu was no better the next morning, she was excited to snowboard again. Alex suggested Shirley which was in a back bowl and thus more protected by the wind. Alex and Fin who get to ski all the time elected to sit Sunday out but everyone came to Squaw. The Shirley side was a little more difficult than Gold Coast and after the first run Ben wanted to try a more difficult slope. Lucy decided that she wanted to go to Gold Coast ...
