Last 2 days....(well I am actually home already)

Got to see my fabulous friend Avon who very generously hosted us at her place.

The weather was HOT HOT HOT. Not that we are not use to it ....but coming from England and Europe it was a significant shift in temperature!!

Awesome place - one which we need to stop using as a stop over and stay a while.

... gleaming and shiny. There are scanners, xrays and checks everywhere so my potential ease in not completing normal procedures was a bit scary. I went through three separate metal detectors in Dubai airport alone. No photos allowed there so I have nothing to declare, except that I did have to take my shoes off for one of them. In the end I think it was my watch that set it off. Hypersensitive. My taxi driver from the airport was also a charming man. His name was Mohammed, but ...

... life over here for expats and the politics of the job, with all
of these conflicting cultures coming together within one company.

So all in all, I am leaving Dubai with one big, ear-to-ear
grin on my face. The people have honestly all been so, so lovely. The place has
been a real trip and a blast. I would come back here in a heartbeat. And I’d be
sad to have to leave tomorrow but for the fact, lucky lady that I am, I have

... fountain shows outside the Mall in front of the Burj Khalifa Building. The fountain shows are every half hour from 6pm and all show are different so we kept popping back and saw three shows. One was to arabic music, one classical and one show was to Michael Jackson's 'Thriller', they were all good and we moved spots so saw it from some crowded and some less crowded spots with seats.
