Riding the rapids
And with all 3 of us feeling much better this morning we set off for the Aquaventure water park by the Atlantis hotel and close to privately owned beaches. With today being a Sunday, I expected the park to be ridiculously busy, but then I realised that the working week runs from Sunday-Thursday... so not quite so busy!
With hardly a cloud in the sky, spending the whole day in the water sounded just the ticket, and a few laps round the rapids inside these rubber rings ...

... because we got lost multiple times on the way. It took at least an hour to get there.
Mushrif Park is a huge park close to the airport (lots of low-flying planes) with a lot of 35 year-old trees (old by Dubai standards). After we found where the stables were, we went back towards the front of the park to find the bathrooms. The side marked 'Ladies' didn't open, so we walked around to the other side to see if there was another door. There was, but it didn't have ...
The Hot Desert

Early sunday we headed to the Dubai mall and toured the Burj Kalifa the tallest building in the world.Tthe viewing platform was on floor 126. Normally one can see for 94 miles up here but due to the blanket of smog that hangs around the city, we only could see for about 30kms. After this it was all aboard the QM2 for our cruise. another exciting chapter in our holiday.

Sneeuw | snow
... are cancelled or delayed. That all due to the snow. Also my flight but with a delay of 6,5 hours the plean leaves Holland for Dubai. Through the delay I missed my connecting flight. After waiting more than 2 hours a new flight is arranged and I get a room in a hotel near the airport.
Today I slept a little and walked around and now back again at the airport.
