Arrived at 6:50 local time, after a fourteen hour flight. Bloody knackered. Very quickly through passport control, collected our luggage and off to find Steve. Burj al Arab are spectacular as are many of the buildings but I'm not convinced they fully compensate for numerous others that are very ordinary and for the conditions of some of the workers here. I met a couple of workers today who worked from 3 to 3 for an obvious pittance and it must be tough. They have no citizenship, very few rights as far as medical or social services are concerned and really they do it pretty tough. Right comrade.
