We leave by foot toward the center of the city of Split for dinner but since we have the impression of walking in a poor neighborhood, we flag a cab.     Today we left about 8am to visit the old city in Split. On the way it was very hot and one poor lady on our bus, which had no ventilation, looked like she was about to faint. She had to get off the bus and recuperate on the footpath with her husband. The old city reminded us of Venice, a maze of lanes and courtyards, cobbled streets and boutiquey shops and market stalls.     What a long day, moving from Hvar to Split turned out to be a bit of a mission. We had to book a ferry from the other side of the island or leave from the marina side at 2pm. So we chose the early 7:45 ferry from the other side of the island however we had to get a 20 minute bus from the marina at 7:05 which was a 20 minute walk away.
