    ... an hour which was refreshing and a nice break for the arms. After a late dinner it was back to hotel horrible for one last night. It had cooled off a bit so the rooms were a little cooler and the fan was a little more effective (we realized that maybe we should move it closer to our heads - duh!     Surprised by how well kept something as ancient as the Diocletian compound has been by many restorations over many century.

    Surprised by the number of English speakers – English is taught in schools from Grade 1 – 12.

Interesting fact - moored next to us this today is the sister ship to the Costa Concordia, the Costa Mediterranea. Also moored near us is a ferry by the name of Aurelia. A very dear name to us. Tonight we eat at Aqualina. Tomorrow we will be up early to watch our ship enter Venice. Probably a once in a lifetime ...

    ... It would be very easy to spend a lot here just with the ship card in your pocket. My reason for doing the cruise was to see places, not to spend a lot of money. I initially thought that I would spend money on the MSC excursions, but as I am not doing any of those now, I am saving quite a bit, and I am probably their nightmare passenger just paying for that standard cruise.

    ... just off shore, then came to pick us up in a little dingy and delivering us for lunch. Planning on just a light lunch, in true Dalmatian style it was again just delicious; garlic and white wine mussels, with some smoked cheese, tuna, ham and also olives of the area. Amazing! Washed down with a local white wine and some cold beers, some ice cream to top off the meal, and we were ready to set sail again.
