... We hit some bad traffic just outside if Baton Rouge and lost us about an hour. Dinner stop in Biloxi Mississippi and then the last 120 miles to Pensacola! There were of course several other bathrooms stops sprinkled in there :) The kids went a little crazy when we got to our hotel, lots of pent up energy to burn but were happy and having a great time. We can't wait to hit the beach ...

Apparently the Coast Guard was considering decommissioning it in the 80's and 90's, but sold it in 1995. The organization that owns it is currently in the midst of a massive renovation--they've already spent half of about $3 ...
