      ... the name of Jim's boat we are hesitant to call. The occupants aboard wave to us as we pass but the boat's name is obscured by an inflatable dinghy hanging across the stern. The radio is silent so I call by the boat's approaching day mark. No answer. This must not be Jim although the boat fits the description Jim gave us.       ... at New River Inlet while we proceeded to the Surf City Bridge. We were making miles and Otto was driving (Otto is our faithful autopilot). Out of the blue, Otto decides to make a 90 degree left turn. The channel here is pretty narrow so Otto was quickly relieved of his duties and hand steering took over.       ... a few going into the forest and this area was known for bear hunting. I don’t know what I am supposed to be more scared of, the bears or the hunters.
