    ... times are nice.

    Our next reservation is at Roanoke Island across the bay from Nags Head. Problem is that is where the outer band of the storm is so we will give them a call and make our decision whether we need to stay here another night. We called and they said it was raining off and on but they haven't been flooded since Hurricane Sandy so we are heading north at noon!!

    This place brought back memories. The only other time I was in Jacksonville, NC was last year when Charlotte got the big snowstorm that had the airport shut down off and on for 4 days (mostly shut down). I got stuck in Jacksonville, NC from Tuesday morning at 8:30 till we left on Friday morning at 11:00. There are only 3 gates at this airport, very small. I was happy to see that we stayed in a nicer area and there were a lot stuff around the hotel. ...

    ... this while doing the routine morning service on the engine. The options are (reasonably) warm with almost certain rain and low winds, vs. cold and high winds directly on the nose. As I said earlier, I can handle cold or rain but not both together. I opt to endure the wet and make time with the hope of reaching Oriental before the weather deteriorates. Hopefully we can make it all the way in but if things do turn nasty we have bailout options at Sea Gate or ...
