      ... 2000m. Then a long descent to Ax les Thermes but then a 10km steep climb to the finish. When I talk about steep, I'm talking about an average of 8% or more with periods of unto about 12%.... That was tough in the heat at the end of the day. 120km and 3000m of climbing.

      During the night the wind howled around the refuge and the rain pelted the building. In the morning the weather forecast was for showers in the morning with winds up to 80 km per hour, and rain in the afternoon. Not very promising!
