Our last day!

Well our day should have been easy riding, 174 miles to Miami and take our bikes back to the port before making our way to Miami airport.
It turned out to be anything but. Hot and sticky riding. We lost Scotty on the way, so Dave, Steve E., led by me took a wrong turn in Miami and ended up at the airport. A bit early especially as we still needed to drop our bikes off at the port and get them all crated. Eventually we got to the port, feeling very hot ...

Leg 1: Denver to Miami

A travel blog entry by jessegnatovich on May 26, 2015

... 30 and I'm sitting there thinking, great, if this next bus doesn't come, I'm gonna have to spend MORE money and get a taxi. And that's a far ride. So expensive. Gah! I was thinking about going to ask someone in Spanish if I could use their phone and call the bus company and rip them a new one in the language of their choice. But no worries, it came at 12:55. Just like the bus trip TO the mall, I fell asleep on my backpack and drooled all over it because ...

Got on the ship and started sailing

A travel blog entry by rulian.fiske on Mar 05, 2015

We got up before 8 after I finally got a decent night's sleep - for various reasons I did not sleep much or well since we left home so a good night's sleep was really nice. We had breakfast, got all packed, and left the hotel at 10:30 as planned. We got to the cruise port in Miami around 11:30. Smooth. And by 12:30, we were on the ship and met up with Lucy and Chris. The 6 of us again, after the SE Asia trip 2+ years ago! It was very nice!

... we view the universe and ourselves. Excellent story! Left about 16:30pm, much later than planned and headed south on FL 95 which took about 3.5 hours. Never seen so much traffic going north and south on an eight lane highway. Arrived Downtown Hilton courtesy of Celina's expert navigation. Going to our room, which was upgraded to Bay views, we were told by the porter that we should have taken the Turnpike which would have shaved 60 minutes off the trip. Never mind, we can do that next ...

Arrived on Celebrity Eclipse!

... taken, there is always a wide range of ages, with kids running everywhere! But on this ship, Tony and I wondered if we mistakenly boarded a SENIOR CITIZEN cruise!!! Seriously! Our conclusion: There are not many people our age who can go on a 14 day cruise during the Thanksgiving holiday, except retired people. That's us, I guess. Sigh. We explored some of the fine dining restaurants and made a couple reservations. After getting a good feel of the ...
