Arrived at Mallacoota 12.20pm found our spot at the Foreshore caravan park it is huge 710 sites, our site has great views of the ocean, Mallacoota certainly has changed since I was here last, but still not spoilt by shopping centres like other coastal towns and yes it sure is blowing a gale, had lunch then walked up to the point and back to van with heater on. Day 19 was still windy over night but today is pleasant and the sun is shining, I took Keith on a tour of ...

Fished from the jetty at the bay and then the groyne. Once again only nibbles and one small flathead caught which was released to grow a bit more. I am starting to get the impression that fishing is not my forte but take encouragement that nobody else was catching fish either. ...

... than it looks. I struggle to get in front of the waves but manage. That turned out to be the hardest part. A huge wave catches me and the power of the water makes it impossible to hold on to my airboard. So I let go and the wave drags me down. I don’t fight against it but move towards the light once the wave is gone, quickly breath some air and let the next wave push me down again. Then the water gets calmer. 2 surfers that are closeby ask me if I’m alright and I say YES. ...
