We turned again at Pateros and headed along a smaller river and through an area that had massive bushfires go through it. Coming out the other side we have landed in the town of Concrete...Yep you heard it right ..they have named the town CONCRETE ! and that is where we are staying the night just down the road from the huge silos made from Concrete. Its a bit seedy and the guy running the place was a bit Dodgy, so if we go missing just remember we stayed at the only motel just west of Concrete ...

Afterward we drove into New Orleans to get the plane home through Dallas/Ft. Worth where we had a three hour layover. ... The day starts off in a relaxed manner and continues that way as we drop the lines and motor around the island to Friday Harbor . Friday Harbor is a much busier harbor on San Juan island. The harbor front isn’t as quaint and homey as Roche Harbor, it is much more of a town. Lots of commercial business, bars, restaurants, etc. We pick a spot for lunch and then head off back to Bellingham.
Once again, Captain Gary was right, the haze burned off and it was downright balmy ...
