... it has reflections and lots of houses down to the water. As soon as you looked away from the river, it was really dry and barren but still hilly. So like Kamloops. We turned again at Pateros and headed along a smaller river and through an area that had massive bushfires go through it. ... The day starts off in a relaxed manner and continues that way as we drop the lines and motor around the island to Friday Harbor . Friday Harbor is a much busier harbor on San Juan island. The harbor front isn’t as quaint and homey as Roche Harbor, it is much more of a town. Lots of commercial business, bars, restaurants, etc. We pick a spot for lunch and then head off back to Bellingham.
