... The thing I forgot to mention about Steamboat Lake is the altitude. Yes we are back above the 8000 feet mark (9419 feet). I start to feel the effects of the altitude sickness again. The nausea, shortness of breath, confusion all came back with a vengeance. It was a shame that I can’t take the altitude because this area is quite beautiful. Well one more night and we will be gone. Needless to say, we don’t do a whole lot today and are still put off about the water ...

Jack Lalanne Had It Figured Out.. LEGEND

A travel blog entry by chrisbaumann87 on Sep 29, 2014

Jack Lalanne is an inspiration on how one should live their life. It's almost as if he was a god starting a new religion. ... of my skis, so he suggested I have someone take a look at my stance. I went to SportStalker/Christy Sports to address my issues. My boots are about 5 years old and have a fair bit of shimming and padding that has been added over the years, so I was planning on getting new boots at the end of this season hopefully on sale. Anyway, when they saw my overly padded boots of course they talked me into pulling the trigger on new ones now. I also got my footbeds redone since the ones ...

... is entertainment after dinner but tonight was not one of those nights.

Thursday morning I woke up in plenty of time for the 8am breakfast. I had a chocolate waffle with bacon and ranch potatoes for breakfast.

For my first activity, I chose a backcountry ski. Guide Carla took me to the South Fork area where we did some climbing up to a small hill and then dropped down to the road 440 in a large loop. The snow was somewhat unstable, creeky and ...
