After checking into our hotel, we meandered down to the immaculately clean shopping/common area. It was filled with a handful of stores I wasn't really tempted to pop into (i.e. Prada). ... which was a fantastic drive as the sun was setting behind the mountains. At dusk we were nearing our destination and climbing through the mountains again, and it was suddenly mad with moths barrelling at us as we drove! It was so loud, and in ridiculous size and numbers, we’ve never seen anything so absurd – and the evidence was all over the car once we stopped! Trail conditions were incredible and on most days and ways fairly mild. It rained just a few times during the trip, the most of which fell during our second night on the trail during a resupply stayover at a campsite in the upper end of Yosemite Valley.
