... here, they tell us a few weeks back, they were driving back down the main road into town at 6 pm and came across a bear and a pack of coyote's, we head back down the hill in our car to the local supermarket to get some provisions, cereal, milk, wine and beer, oh and some crisps. Up we went out of reds meadow. Every step feeling like an 8 hour work day. The sun blazed and I was slightly regretting not mailing a box of food ahead on the trail like the rest of the group had. While everyone was carrying 5 days of food, I had 15 days worth. I had all the food I would need for the rest of the trip, and I was about to lug it another 150 miles up to the top of Mt. Whitney.

Today's the day!! The first day of the rest of my life! So looooong San Diego!

Today is a travel day to Mammoth Lakes to meet up with a bunch of my friends for a buddy's (Pete) 40th birthday weekend full of awesome riding, drinking beer, and more riding. Is there a better way to kick off a 3 month sabbatical? I think not.
