... we don't do frequently. We detoured purposely. We had been persuaded by our friend Nick and our own tasteful ambitions to take the John Muir Trail alternate instead of the Pacific Crest Trail for a fourteen mile divergence of the two. ... day hikers gasping for air from the cracked windows. The poor little girl sitting at my waist level covered her face with her shirt. Never have I reeked of such a potent blend of a life-well-lived. The jokes then began to fly. The twenty minute cottage cheese, rotten fish, and boiled cabbage bus ride was over soon enough. A heavenly delicious meal was had in town and a long, heavy sleep followed in the luxuries of Motel 6.

... shade we haven’t had in awhile. But it’s a little isolated on the edge of the huge mountains that form Yosemite. No Wi-Fi in the campground and tokens for the showers. Wilderness campers can come here, buy a token, and take a shower so it’s really a public facility. That’s OK because it’s also very clean and neat.
