The drive over and back was nice, but we have realized that in this part of the US, a 20 mile drive takes 45 minutes to an hour due to the terrain and the numerous small villages you have to go through, but that adds to the drive.

Friday October 11th: On the Road again, just can't wait to get on the road again. Going through Massachusetts we still see a lot of fall color going on. Just made reservations to stay at Seaport Campground in Mystic, Connecticut. We stayed there on our way up the East Coast and really liked it.
Such a sunny shiny ...
... Vermont and visited Woodstock a very neat town with heaps of beautiful old buildings. We also visited Billings Farm and Museum, a living museum of Vermont's rural past as well as a working dairy farm.
We then set out for Ludlow and got caught in a storm for a while. It was very windy and the rain came in sheets. Mike did well to keep the coach on the road.
We stayed at the Jackson Gore Hotel, a ski resort for the Okema ski field. Very nice hotel.
... departure to our destination until well into the evening and thus arrived out our campsite in the dark. At this point I don't even think it is worth noting that this is 4 for 4 on dark arrivals. On the drive out of Manchester we got word of some of the details of the recently announced government shutdown. Apparently as part of the shutdown, all National Parks were closed until further notice. We had been keeping to our tight ...
Tonight September 27th we are planning to go to Greenfield to eat somewhere.... a few ideas are up in the air like usual... and spend time at the Poet's Seat. We will have dinner with Mom, Dad, Amie, Aunt Martha, and Uncle Dana. Don't tell Uncle D but we are planning to pretend I have dyed my hair black ;)
