Yellowstone Park: The Disneyland of National Parks. While this park is on most bucket lists, I just have one thing to say- "I'll Pass!"
If I could pay to have the park closed for a private tour for myself then I'm in but otherwise the clusterf**k of people that you will experience here will overwhelm your once in a lifetime Yellowstone adventure. (Go during non-peak season)
... inches of snow and a lot of ice. We had planned to go on a 9 am tour so we got breakfast to go and checked out. Upon checkout we learned that a number of the roads were closed, others required 4 wheel drive or chains, and all but a few were "snow tires advised". At this point we weren't sure if we were going to be able to leave the park. We decided that we needed to leave via the southern exit as it changed from 4 wheel required to snow tire advised at 8:45 and ...
... other sentence out of the announcer's mouth was an advertisement. Again everyone still had fun, just did not live up to the hype. The highlight was Julia taking the girls down to chase a couple of calves to snag ribbons off their horns. Quite a mass of kids chasing around after livestock. Neither girl won but both had smile - probably because Dad promised me $5 of spending money each for trying.
We all did not get back to trailer til late and everyone headed straight to bed.
We saw a Burma Shave like grouping of signs along the way today within the park...not sure which Park...but we thought it appropriate for the setting.....here it is:
