Goon is made from fish, milk and nuts....why?
Travelling is great, the people you meet are Ausome (see what I did there) mostly and it's seriously good fun.
I feel sick from too much beer last night.
They are very lax with safety round here they'll let you jump in a kayak with no previous experience, no life jacket and no training or advice and just let you get on with it. Same with jetskis etc.
... You can get so close to them. We were able to stroke a koala (they are so cute and I would love one as a pet!), and there is a big area where you can feed the kangaroos, I was amazed at how tame they are!
We are spending the night in a place called Noosa, apparently it is a favourite destination for Australians to go on holiday so it should be good! x
... the strand" a palm lined, stretch of beach front along the ocean, that was built after the hurricanes in ? (hmm can't find that info right now) . There is miles of pathways for rollerblading, walking, jogging and biking. Three major swimming areas, one called the "rock pool", and two others where there is nets to keep out the "stingers" (jellyfish), playgrounds, kiosks, restaurants, and a huge splash park, and a big climbing rope ...
Mapleton, Queensland, Australia shannonm... is it just me or is that completely wrong/insane/extortionate/all of the above??! The girl is clearly a money making avenue and is living her entire life in the spotlight. Anyway, less about child exploitation, more about Noosa. When we got back to Noosa Simon was approached by a guy trying to give him a bible study kit - he obviously hadn't seen how packed our backpacks are. We gave him some money for charity (which is very generous seeing as ...
Noosa, Queensland, Australia marietherese... like state, they're always in it. It was so still we thought it was a stuffed toy. In fact for the next two hours we saw no other sign of koala's and began to think of it as a stunt by the park. I took a trip to the Eumundai Markets which are the largest markets (I think) in Australia about 1/2 hour away. Myself and a girl called Pip went. We wandered around for two hours buying various bits and bobs and still didn't see it all. It was fantastic. Some stuff was ...
Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia beckyww... The thing is there are sharks in the river, think sitting in a canoe in the middle of a black river with a shark turning around under you... But what you can't see doesn't bother you so maybe it's for the best the water is black. The reflections didn't disappoint, it really is like looking into a mirror when you look into that water and the dry white tree trunks that have fallen into the river are amazing - absolutely beautiful and so peaceful. And we saw some more wildlife in ...
Noosa, Queensland, Australia johannajulien... trail that goes along the coast. You pass by Alexandria Bay (aka A Bay), which is a secluded nudist beach. I saw one or two naked people and a handful of clothed tourist. Other than that, I was the only one on the beach during most of my run. Then I took a trail through the middle of the rainforest to get back to the entrance. I could run there everyday and not get bored! After my ...
Noosa, Queensland, Australia edieter... alot of literal names like that in Australia...they call a spade, a spade and all that). After looking at the Sand Patch we headed back to the camp site for some food and more goon.... That night it rained the whole night and everyone woke up to puddles in their tents. So we all decided to skip breakfast and get out ASAP. We packed up the cannoes and headed down the river. The group had split up with 3 ploughing on ahead and 3 kind of lagging ...
Noosa, Australia smc_mahon... balancing" the wheels (riiiight...) plus a charge for straightening the wheel rim. The total came to about A$300, which was a real kick in the guts, but it was just stone cold bad luck, there was nothing we could do about it.
The thing ...
