... Alamo rental car and head west right into the storm front. By the time i reach the top of the Rockies the weather is appalling. Next to zero visibility, plenty of snow falling. Finally make it to Breckenridge, which looks very pretty as the whole area is covered in snow.
A day to do very little, just adjusting to the high altitude and low oxygen levels.

Had a mixed day at Loveland. Lindsay and I drove to Loveland early and got on the slopes by 10:30 or so. Kirk, Chris and Vienne didn't get there until noon.
- Weather was great
- Ski conditions were great
- Lindsay really elevated her confidence with skiing
- We skied all the blues runs
... the Mountain Manhattan and Kelly had the White Hot Martini. We ordered starters - escargot, lamb tandoori, and potatoe chips with blue cheese and chives. Watched the Riviera golf tournament for a bit, talked to a bartender who used to live in Austin, and generally had a great time. Walked back to the condo, then watched the Oscars (not so great).

Back to breakfast at Park and Main - another great breakfast sandwich ...
... with dry snow. Breckenridge has five slopes connected by gondola or a bit of (difficult) traversing. Peak 6 was brand new having opened on Christmas day. It is above the tree line and was a bit wind blown, but the girls and I had a lot of fun there. From the top it is a very long way down to the bottom of Peak 7 - quite the work out that one! ... came together and the next thing I knew, I was carving from heel edge to toe edge down the mountain. Needless to say, I'll be putting my paycheck to better use (i.e. more comfortable and the right size snowboard boots). My advice to anyone learning to snowboard- wear protection (wrist guards, bum pad- I didn't have one but wish I did), stick with it ...
