Early start for the first day of riding, well early for me especially on holiday. Breakfast at 8:30, I know better this time and fill myself full of bacon and carbs, don't want to run out of energy when I'm riding. About 9:30 we go down to the garage and get kitted out, the weather looks a little gloomy so we opt for the extra waterproof jacket just in case. Three different forecast have been read online and all were different, do they just stick their ...

... an ideal killing field where the defending forces can take out their enemy before they can reach the next gate. With so many gates, I can't even begin to imagine what the Spanish forces went through to conquer this heavily protected palace. Going up the palace was somewhat difficult, because the ground is not very even making it a challenge to go uphill. But eventually we made it all the way to the main palace itself, and were able to walk around most of it. It's set up as ...

Well, Rasta and I were very excited to wake up to a bright, sunny morning in Malaga, and we couldn’t wait to explore! This incredibly old city was founded by the Phoenicians in 770BC as Malaka, and has been influenced greatly both archaeologically and architecturally by the Roman, Arabic and Christian eras spanning a history of almost 2,800 years. It is located on Costa del Sol (Coast of the Sun) of ...

... mile long just got lost in the intriguing description of our rental. Well, a track is actually a donkey path, one that has been widened to one narrow lane and zig-zags upwards to a residence on the mountainside. The hills are dotted with homes each with its own track. We had excellent directions and when we turned off the main road onto the dirt track we were excited to finally see the place where we would settle in for ...

Family visit

... irritable particularly as the taxi driver charged us €20 to go 500m to the hotel. We are peregrinos, we know how far 500m is and this guy ripped us off! But we got there, a clean bed and our own facilities even a room kettle. The Holiday Inn Express has never seemed so plush. Up earlyish and a train to Benalmadena ensured that we were outside of family's apartment before 9:30. Big mistake! They weren't there! After choosing to stay nearer to work because of car problems we ended ...
