    ... around the old town and has a small existence with tourism. Geraldine thought the ruins too new to be of interest. We went in the morning again to avoid the hottest part of the day. (Weather 35-40 deg C clear skies and very humid).

    Ekincik was a delightful little anchorage off a small pebble beach with a natural spring just inland. We stopped here heading westwards & thought we'd visit again on the return leg.

    ... an enquiry at the Municipal Office, we were directed to a municipal bus park with a regularly serviced ablution block. They told us to stay there “No problem. No pay. Quiet tonight.”


    Hmm. We were not so sure about the latter part. The carpark was about 60% full – big tour buses and mini buses being the main occupants. The toilets were acceptably clean 24x7. The gents had a cold shower – we guess ...

    We were offered šaj or coffees by the Kebab waiter. It was sourced from the tea man. Paul was allowed in to see how it’s all prepared. He was allowed to pour the Turkish coffees and served us but he wasn’t trusted with the delivery run. The fellow told us proudly, he had been in this business for 10 years and loved it!     We walked down to the restaurant and were intrigued by the containers of water at every bend. Water - to bus used in the event of a fire!

    Our walk took us along the sea front at dusk - so picturesque but a huge new hotel may have an impact. Unfortunately the road is too narrow to safely walk back, at night. This meant we said no to the deserts!
