... go to Costa Rica instead before returning home. We went for a walk round Central Park at noon on Christmas Day which was, rather surprisingly, incredibly busy. Afterwards we had Christmas Day lunch at Ruth’s Chris Steak House and then spent the rest of the day facetiming family and watching films in true Christmas style.

... were fed mostly by the good folks at Wholefoods with their comprehensive and VERY tasty buffet (as you do) and we COULD have taken it into one of the many parks there but it was getting chilly by that stage (it got even chillier by later in the trip!!!)

We stayed with some great folks from a certain home stay website up in Harlem, really great base for our wanderings through the park and a great area in its own right.

I've just landed into JFK en route to Berlin and need to state for the record that jetBlue ROCKS MY SOCKS.

When I checked in at Charleston Intl, they arranged everything so that my checked bag went straight through to Berlin even though I switch airlines at JFK - which means I can skip the traversing of multiple terminals and frantic searching of identical carousels for my bag before hauling it to the new airline.

Anyway apart from all that we went to a huge Italian indoor market called Eatily full of the most amazing pasta, wine and other Italian foods. Grand Central Station is extraordinary and there is the hugest Apple Computer shop on the balconies in there. We ate at a small Bolivian cafe very near to our apartment.
