    Best Pool in PCB!

My husband and I recently spent a week at SOP. We booked through vrbo and stayed in unit 515. As for the resort, it is nice and new, but still working out some kinks. Check in was simple, and I was offered as many keys as I needed. There is covered parking. If your unit is on floors 1-12, you can park right outside your room. This place is a cashless property, so you leave a credit card number at checkin and receive a paper resort card to use for anything you might buy. Each unit is individually owned, so you can book directly through the owner and usually get a much better deal than what is offered if you call the resort directly. Our unit was a 1 bedroom with bunkroom. The bunkroom was a very small bedroom with one set of twin bunk beds, but it also had its own bathroom. There was also a stacking washer/dryer in the unit. The unit was beautifully decorated, had a comfortable bed, and was sufficiently stocked with dishes, dishwasher detergent, etc. My only complaint about the actual unit was the rough sheets. We had to put a blanket on the bed because we couldn't stand the sheets!

We had wireless interenet in our room, but that is up to each individual owner. Free access is available in the lobby.

As far as the resort, you have a wonderful pool, with room for everyone. There are also 2 tiki bars, one that serves food. Everything is made to order, so you do have to be patient. We were there for over a week, and couldn't figure out the schedule for these, as they seemed to open at different times every day and did not even open one day. The charges are like room service, with an 18% gratuity already added. The food isn't bad, except that the fish tacos were incredibly salty.

The spa is not yet open. I called for a massage and they gave me a phone number to a masseuse that could come to my room. Not exactly what I was looking for.

At most PCB resorts, you have a keychain or wristlet for each resort, granting you access to the pools. Here, you only have your paper resort card, which easily gets wet and dissolves! The security guards only checked these on the weekends, so I suppose anyone could use the pools!

Check out is early, 10am. I highly recommend actually going to the desk to check out, as there were numerous charges on my bill that did not belong. I was charged twice for my beach service, and was not credited for charges they had already charged to my card. The agent I got at checkout seemed clueless, but the other lady on duty at that time really seemed to know what was going on. I'm chalking it up to the whole resort being new and this is their first go at this.

There is a $27 per day amenitiy fee at this place, so keep that in mind when booking and make sure it is included in your total. We were lucky, as the owner of our unit included that in our total.

Location at SOP is key! You are within walking distance of WalMart, a convenience store, Waffle House, Pompano's, Starbucks in the Majestic, and numerous gift shops and other resorts.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay. We just had to keep in mind it was a new resort and still needed to "get with it".

The Most Impressive Pool In Panama City Beach

Shores of Panama is our new favorite resort PCB.We just returned yesterday after a much needed vacation. We have stayed at the holiday inn sunspree,Marriot on the bay & edgewater all in PCB & all well over $200/nt.We rented from a SHORES OF PANAMA private owner on the VRBO website at a much better rate.Since i rented thru a private owner i can't tell u much about the management but we did check in at the front desk just like a regular hotel. We stayed on the 10th floor & liked this level becouse with the crowds at the pool this was high enough to escape the noise yet have a beautifull view.(see pictures)We also enjoyed the convienance of free covered parking on the 10th floor no more than 20 ft. from our front door. Our old favorite was the Marriot but hated being so far from the beach and the view of the bay is not the same as the GULF OF MEXICO.It rained some but we hung out at the indoor pool & spa that was very nice.Normally we do not inquire about indoor amenities but with inclement weather it sure saved the day.We give this new resort out highest recomendation.

    Amazing! Loved it!

We just got back from the Shores of Panama and WE ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT! It is in a great location- when we first arrived, we were able to walk across the street to the super Walmart to buy our groceries for our stay- VERY convenient. There was also a great casual restaurant next door called Pineapple Willy's- good food and drinks. Now, for the good part, the resort itself- the thing that sets this resort apart from any other resort in Panama City is the pool- it is AMAZING- comparable to what you would find in a top notch resort in Mexico. Very tropical, lagoon style, with bridges and fountains. The food and drinks at the pool Tiki bar were very good as well. We rented a 4th floor, 2 bedroom, bunk room, 3 full bath unit on VRBO. Our condo was very comfortable, beautifully decorated and had everything we needed. The view from the balcony was incredible- a great view of both the pool and ocean. Our family can't wait to go back!

Loved it... going again in August and can't wait!!!

Wow, what a place! We have been to Panama City many times in the past but not in the last 5 years or so. We could not believe we were in Panama City Beach. It felt like we were in Hawaii or a tropical paradise in the pacific some where. The pool was unreal. It has bridges, fountains and a zero entry edge pool...and it was huge. Beach access is very easy to and from the pool... no long walks needed. The room we had was very tastefully decorated and very clean. It and had all the amenities you would ever need. The beds were awesome... we want to find out what brand they were so we can get one!! We just loved it. The view was great as it overlooked the pool and the beach. It looked like there was not a bad view from any of the condos. The owner was fantastic and really cared about our stay and was very informative of the local attractions. We loved it so much that we have actually booked another week in August. Don't pass up this jewel when in Panama City Beach.

    Excellent Resort For Family

Our stay at this resort was one of the best experiences we have had in years. We rented from an owner on VRBO and the unit was very nice. My kids loved the pool. I couldn't get them out of it even though the water was chilly. The location is in an area where the traffic is not bad. We were there during Spring Break and the traffic can get really bad. The resort is new and very beautiful.

Don't Do It! Worst hotel experience I've ever had

I am a meeting planner and travel and pick properties for a living. NEVER have I had a worse experience as I did during my trip to Shores of Panama for my mothers birthday. To begin with, we didn't get the floorplan that we reserved nor the view. When we got into the room, it was COVERED in construction dust. We tried to move and the room they moved us to was not even the same number of rooms so we ended up moving back. It got worse from there... The sheets would literally scratch your skin, the fridge was turned out, we cut our foot on the tack strips at the carpet edges, none of the remotes in the room worked, we had 6 light bulbs that were out, the bathroom only had scalding hot water so we had to share despite booking a 2 bath, and there was NO internet as promised. I had to sit outside in the hallway by the elevator to connect. Our feet were black from walking on the carpets and tile and to top it ALL off, my mother got locked in the master bathroom because the doorknobs were so cheap. The first night alone we had the maintenance guy up 4 times until 1am. They would not send someone to clean until Saturday afternoon and even then, they didn't clean the filthy tubs or doors. The next day I had the manager come up, went over all this with her, and she offered us a discount off a FUTURE stay! When I declined, she credited us about $40. I disputed the charge with American Express as i t completely ruined my mothers birthday trip, and they had the nerve to argue back! Take my word for it, I've stayed in hundreds of hotels from 3-5 stars and never had a worse experience. when I got home, I called the CEO of Sterling Resorts and never got a call back. Told me all I need to know about this company. You are better off at the days Inn down the street.

    Very pleased with room

We were very pleased with our stay at Shores of Panama. Our room was equipped with everything we needed. The pool was fabulous - but beware, NO COOLERS ALLOWED AT THE POOL AREA. We were very disapointed with this and spent most of our time at the beach.

Shores of Panama - Incredible and Unbelievable

We were so impressed with this new hot spot in Panama City Beach...Shores of Panama is up there with some of best resorts we've ever stayed. My wife and I have traveled to Mexico and throughout the Caribbean and have stayed in some really nice beach resorts with huge pools and so we were shocked to actually find something like this in Panama City Beach, which was only a 6 hour drive for us from Atlanta.

We loved the large out door jacuzzi where we spent a lot of time since in January it was a bit to cold to get in the main pool but we also enjoyed the wonderful indoor heated pool and jacuzzi. The fitness center and spa was not open yet, but it should be opening by the end of February.

We booked one of the small studio/efficiency units that we found on vrbo where we got a little better price than booking directly with Sterling.

We are probably going to forego our trip to Mexico this summer and go back to this beautiful place. If you're looking for the best of the best in Panama City Beach... you've found your place!!

    Love shores of panama.....great

I booked thru vrbo....we loved shores of panama.....thinks it the best on the beach.....staff was great....location great.....felt like were in paradise

    Quiet and relaxing

We rented a 2 bedroom with bunkroom and 3 bathrooms for 4 nights for 4 adults and 2 children (unit 1007). The bunkroom had a door, so was quiet enough for the kids to sleep while the adults were still up in the living room. The unit was well furnished and had everything we needed for our stay. The view was fantastic from the big sliding glass doors and the balcony.

Its nice having a full kitchen when you have kids. We ate out twice. Once at Pineapple Willy's without the kids (glad we brought the Grandparents) and once at Captain Andersons. Captain Andersons service was great, the food was good but expensive. Pinapple Willy's is always fun!

Beach was clean and quiet and the pool was amazing! The kids loved the zero entry section of the pool and played with their toys in the shallow water. There were plenty of chairs, tables and loungers and everything was clean and new. The outdoor hottub was warm and relaxing.

The only issues we had were that some facilities are not open yet, for instance, no onsite restaurant or bars. This is not too big an issue as Pinapple Willy's is right next door. Also, the indoor pool and spa were too cold to use. I am sure this will be fixed soon as the weather changes. We heard that the onsite bars and restaurants will be open in February ready for the 2008 season.

Panama City Beach has a very special place in my heart.. I've grown up down there spending summers, spring breaks, vacations, and holidays down there! I know this place like the back of my hand. I have seen the old PCB to them breaking down the amusement park and building pier park.. Tearing down the old nasty hotels and building high rise condominiums.. We will forever go to PCB!! The places to eat are Boatyard, Sharkys, Pineapple Willys, Shukums, Margaritaville and many many more!!.. ...
