... rough, but well defined trail. The trail climbs in a series of long switchbacks, which, whilst not as steep as the Walters Wiggles on the Angels Landing hike, were quite steep in places. It was a beautiful walk with the rising sun on my back, birds flitting through the pine trees around me and the occasional chipmunk scooting away over the rocks at the side of the path. We were so tired we couldn't even speak except to shout the occasional swear word. Mum, maybe it’s lucky you weren’t here ...

... chilled in the evening and had a very average tea and another cold night. The next morning we packed up and left our little tent house and said goodbye to Syril. SJ was sad to leave him. We have another fairly long drive to San Francisco but we are excited about going there. We don't know why but we think it will be epic! (we are picking up so many new words and phrases so we will drop a few in as we go along) P.S. just in case you didn't know, Syril is a squirrel ...
