... as Jason driving made it worse. Luckily the scenery was gorgeous and worth it! On the drive we did see Olmsted Point, Tenaya Lake, Half Dome, El Capitan, Cathedral Peak and Tuolumne Meadows to name a few. ... met us at the train station but the van was a piece of ****. With loads of little things wrong with it. We spent the rest of the day in hollywood it was great i loved it! we did a tour on a van thing with an open top and saw LoADS of famous peoples houses in beverley hills including simon cowell,elvis presley,christina agularia,J-lo, the beckhams, patrick swayze, michael jackson... and loads more. We were awake early and walked cautiously down the icy pavements to breakfast (very early for me at 7.30am); a motor-cyclist also in having breakfast told us it was only 24 degrees F (-4.5 C). After a night of pizza and little else, we woke up at the foot of Mount Whitney to very beautiful surrounding (that it was too dark to see the night before) and made our way to Mammoth Lakes.
Mount Whitney is the highest Mountain in the contiguous United States at 14,505 feet and after WWII was almost renamed Mount Winston Churchill.
