... out in the habitat. Probably the two coolest things - 1) an alligator sunning himself on the banks of water, who suddenly opened his jaws as we were watching; and, 2) a Great Egret who was walking around in the water, then suddenly flew up and landed on the railing 4 ft from us. We saw some other amazing and colourful birds, and one turtle. It was a good day. :o)

Temps in the mid-high 70's today, but wow, was it windy. We made brunch, then I headed to the Farmers Market to see if I could pick up one of those neat coloured cauliflower. I was there early enough this week to pick one up (an orange one). Am excited to try it.

... Cost per person was $25 for 1.5 hrs. There were the three of us, Scarlet, and two other people who were Scarlet's friends. It was fantastic - when Scarlet and Rozie spotted dolphins, Scarlet called out to them and them came in close, sometimes right beside the boat. Rozie would bark at them and run back and forth on the boat. Adorable little guy. He would hang right off the side of the boat - Scarlet said he jumps in sometimes. ...

Temps in the mid 70's today. We went for a walk on the beach, then crossed over and walked back down the main drag, stopping in the stores along the way. SPI is 34 miles long but only 1/2 mile wide. Only the southernmost 5 miles of the island are developed. One side borders the Gulf of Mexico, and the other borders the Laguna Madre.
