... A bit like a less dramatic Lake District. The lakes are collossal but the mountains around them are rounded rather than peaked and covered in littoral rainforest. Very very peaceful and wild.
Sadly have arrived just at the very end of the whale migration season so it's not worth doing a whale trip. But dolphins abound out to sea and in the lakes too. Saw a whole pod surfing in the shore break - something so beautiful about dolphins. ...

But like most things, the Australian version ...
... there was nobody in front of us so we still had a view. We saw some beautiful sunsets and on one morning we took our breakfast down to the edge of the water where there are some tables to sit at.
We really enjoyed Forster. We were lucky to have beautiful warm weather while we were there although it was very cold at night & we were glad to have our heater.
