It’s also a museum and has been kept exactly as it was when he and his wife Gala lived there. I couldn’t miss the opportunity being this close so I went there. I found the tourist info who told me the museum was full for the day but I could go there and buy a ticket for tomorrow, which I did. It was a very ...

The killer was that as soon as we got to the bottom we started the ascent of the second col which involved climbing over 400 metres inside 4 Kms. The sign said that it had an average grade of 9.7%, but Dave and Werner's computers registered 17 and18 %. I was very pleased to hear that because I found it really, really tough, but so did everyone else. After our descent ...

DAY 8/June 21: Les, Spain to Oust

... waited at the bottom in Seix and then we rolled the final 2 km to our hotel in Oust together.

I would have ridden the planned extra loop at the end of today's route if we had started earlier, it wasn't such a hot day, and we didn't have a swimming pool waiting for us. So not long after we pulled in just after 4pm, I was down at the pool with a bunch of the others who'd arrived earlier.
The water was...let's call it refreshing. ...
