I cannot wait to explore Angers. Marie, my host mom, gave me a tour by car of Angers. I will visit downtown, the castle of Angers & probably take a river tour one evening. Tonight we have our welcome dinner at a Crepe rest
... with lots of trees for shade. They didn't do their job properly because as I suffered through the same heat wave as you have been having, the temperature in the van, in the shade, rose to above 35 degrees and stayed there for the rest of the stay. On the first evening I took Treacle for a walk to the end of the island where I found a little sandy beach and to my surprise, Treacle, who doesn't swim voluntarily, waded in right up ...
Many would dream of a hot summer holiday. For me it was way too much of a good thing.
And apart from the air conditioning of the 'Hotel Skoda' we had to rely on the pool and the local sparkling whites to find some relief. Still, we found some other wonderful things to occupy our time.

... covered it alot in his very interesting stories of his travels around France. He is a very clever fix it man and we have invited him over to NZ when ever he can make it some time.

At about six ,Joesine will have us rallying for dinner, we always have a salad made by one of us and she will usually make the main dish. Kevin made rice pudding one night which was a hit with some rhubarb confit. Later on we have more free time to go walking or play this French game with sticks otherwise we plan the rest of our time in France or drink wine and Cointreau ............
