It was a great feeling pulling back into Nature Coast Landings in Crystal River. We spent four days visiting with friends, riding our bikes, swimming in a real heated pool and of course sprucing up our lot for our winter renters. Several folks have asked what the inside of the Cottage looks like and we realized we had not posted any pictures of the inside. So we took a few. Here is where we slumbered, watched movies, read, knitted and made wonderful dinners.
We had our alarms set for 7 A.M. to get an early head start to Sugarlands Riding Stables! Because we have so much to do in the 16 days, we can't stay in any one place for too long, but Camp LeConte Luxury Outdoor Resort (where we stayed last night) is definitely something we’ll be returning to. We both thought, "I wish we had more time here."
As we started to pack up, we noticed a little beagle wandering around the camp. ...
Today we had a great ride on the new bike trail in Dunnellon with our friends Trish and Steve. It's a total of 5 miles through the forest. So beautiful. The Florida beauty many tourist don't get to see. After, we all met Lynn and Larry at Swampy's on the Rainbow River for lunch.
... a federal campground for a senior is quite cheap. staying a sunset rv is only about $400. a month so that's pretty good as well and only about a mile from town.
the second day we were here it rained and rained and large gusts of wind, it went on for over 24 hrs. this is the first time we have gotten an rv spot right on the water and when high tide came, with all the rain, it was pretty scary, the water was only a few feet away, but alsa, we made it ...
... snakes already. I was so nervous that we would see more. Luckily we did not see any snakes, only a deer grazing.
Our last morning, we packed up the car and headed over to the sink hole trail. About 10 minutes in, we encounter another snake - this time Gabe didn't tell me not to freak out, but still started taking pictures as the snake slithered away from us - yikes! After our hike we jumped in the car, turned on the GPS, plugged in Jacksonville, FL and headed out.
