After returning to Brisbane it only took an hour to reach Surfers Paradise. We had decided to try out 'couch surfing' - an official website where people let you sleep on their couch or spare room for a few nights. We wanted to try it out as a way of getting to know the area we are staying in better and getting to meet interesting people (plus it's free which is a massive bonus!) Our couch surfing host, Brad, kindly picked us up from the bus station and showed ...

... and her tail wagged relentlessly. As predicted, the storms rolled in accompanied by some ear-splitting lightning. We tried to get some photos of the sky being ripped by plasma forks. Our favourite place to eat is the Hellenika at Nobby Beach so we made sure we found a night to have dinner there. Its still good Greek food!

... stayed for as little time as possible and got out of Chris' way.

We had our morning tea at Beaudesert before the Chris visit. Coffee made by our resident Barista Allan.

Lunch today was in Jimboomba. Sharon had made the usual spread however the weather was rather wet. We decided on a treat, lunch out. Can't see that paying for a sandwich is very clever it is only what you would make yourself. However, it was a treat, and a nice one at that.
