After dinner we went to Ghillie Dhu's and sitting right across from us were the prettiest ladies in all of Scotland, so I introduced myself and made new friends! Nicola & Julia became our friends right away, as if we were kindred spirits. ... lead to hidden neighborhoods or outdoor garden patios surrounded by the high walls of honey-colored stone, complete with wrought-iron balconies holding baskets of tumbling summer flowers. It is a place in which to truly enjoy getting lost. Down steep narrow cobbled streets, the imagination runs wild- it is the stuff of fairy tales and legends. One tale in particular makes Old Town Edinburgh an especially "magical" place for us.

... take on the advice from Macca and Paddy and walk up the two levels of stairs which brings me to the halfway point of the tower. The line is non existent as many queue up for the lifts to the summit. The summit lifts from the halfway point was again empty and I find myself standing on top of the tower laughing at my fortune in jumping the queue.
