        ... I went to "Noah's ark" today. We spent almost 2 hours looking around and trying things on. We both walked out with some great purchases :) The boys went for a 2 hour bike ride. After lunch we drove up to Captiva to look around some of the shops up there - a couple of art galleries, clothing stores etc. I saw a nice casual dress for $3600.00 and a sweater for $500!         Again courtesy of CS friends, we are back on Palm Island and what a brilliant island it is.

        It is accessible only be private boat or ferry...and while the ferry ride is only about five minutes, it feels like it is miles away from the mainland.

        We can see why we hear this area called "Old Florida" so often.

        Obviously back in the 30's and 40's before the development, before the big bridges, before paved roads, life ...

        It was cloudy and foggy but our first trip down to the beach was relaxing but cut short when the driver called to deliver Linda's car. We walked on the beach and visited the Lighthouse Museum but the picnic lunch had to be put on hold. We are still amazed that we live near the beach. Next time we will get to stay a little ...
