Day Four
... we got an Argentian Malbec to have with it. Dessert was something very close to our crème brulee which is one of the typical ones here.
Back to Dona Nidia’s house for another glass of wine and TV before bed.
P.S. The only news channel we can get in English is Fox – OMG!! They are such liars it makes me want to jump through the TV and strangle them!! Sorry my Republican ...
Costs too much Rica
... hell and questioned everyone for 5 mins before asking for proof of exit and $500 cash or a credit card before letting you through...suffice to say none of us were prepared for that so a bit of hasty printing of flights, no matter how far off they were and we finally got through....until they then decided to search everyones bags one by one. Normally not a big task, at an airport, but for one guy with no xray machine there goes another hour...and we were through...

End of an era..
... tub of chocolate syrup and a bunch of oreo cookie wafers. We piled it all into 2 dishes and decided to eat it with no spoons or hands allowed, so just stuck our faces in it. We felt sick within about 10 mouthfulls and didn’t even finish half if it but it was funny while it lasted.
So now I'm about to start the next phase of my travels. Next stop La Fortuna to see an active volcano and Monte Verde cloud forest again...

Being a teacher..all the ups and downs
... the first class that I ever taught here in Costa Rica, my boss accused me of being unapproachable. He said I was not patient with my students. Now, every time this little adjective is used to describe me, I cringe a bit on the inside. How is this possible??? I try to be the most open minded and least judgmental person I can possibly be. Why do people, and more importantly, my students, see me as unapproachable?! I really don't get it. I will say this, the first class that ...
Puerto viejo..the caribbean coast of costa rica!:)
... and then sat on the beach for awhile. there were a lot of mosquitos so then we decided to head back to the hostel and get some rest. when we woke up in the morning we booked our bus to get to the border. after we booked the bus we went for a little swim in the ocean before we had to be on the bus. it was a lovely night/morning in puerto viejo. we ended up coming back unexpectedly but more on that later...... ;)
