... The Blue Mountains for $78, and then catch the 10pm night bus to Byron Bay. I would have much preferred to go up and stay in The Blue Mountains for a night, giving time for a bushwalk. That would have definitely meant delaying my flight to New Zealand though. The Blue Mountains are spectacular, and really a must see. My how touristy the day trips are though. ... no sign of getting any more serious. Once you get used to it (and some don't) you walk along the rim as darkness falls to where the nighttime spectacle happens. Being in Vanuatu, safety is paramount so we each had a bright yellow raincoat and a torch.......I set myself up with my camera and tried to remember to press the shutter as I was awed by the raw power of nature.
