My favorite side trip so far. The trip by minibus was fairly long (8:15 a.m. To 6:30 p.m.) Our guide, Mladen, was excellent and did a great job pointing out areas of interest in the countryside on the way to Mostar. The border crossing took quite a while, compared to the crossing into Montenegro. Customs officials check tour buses fairly thoroughly. We got ahead of several big buses. Unlike all our other mornings we woke up before 9:00 this morning for a pre-breakfast swim.

We rushed down to the closest beach which is usually packed with tourists, but was empty at 8:15 in the morning-apart from a few germans saving some spots by planting their towels and walking off back to bed.

As we all hopped in, mum fell off the edge and Joseph walked in slowly we swam out a little way, realising how lucky we were! Croatia ...
