As of yesterday morning I was still saying that we were going to Portugal, then The Algarve, then Albufeira. Now I can say we are at Olhos d'Agua - means Water Eyes. The apartment is very pleasant indeed - we are in a two bedroom one, although we booked a one bed, and the sea view is just something else. And the sky is blue and the sun is warm! We are lucky. Very quickly ...
... sand and turquoise blue waters is absolutely breathtaking! I found myself literally gawking at the the view in amazement. After about three hours and three million pictures, we decided to head back to the hostel! After supper, we all sat around the dinner table and visited then ended our evening watching Pitch Perfect projected up onto the wall in the living room. It was so lovely to be with a big group of people and just enjoying each ...
... so beautiful, but by the time we had checked in, unpacked, and got ready to go again the sun was hiding and it was a bit chilly. We went down to the beach with our bathing suits on regardless of the lack of sun and enjoyed the gray sky and crashing waves. We had previously just got off a 15 hour train ride so we were a bit exhausted, so we had an easy going restful evening as the rest of our hostel went on a night of the town! The next morning we got homemade pancakes made ...
... 30 minutes. We were told that it was possible to walk back to Albufeira from the shore. First high along the cliffs (a lot of up and downs) then eventually from the beach. But, we were told, keep an eye on the in-coming tide, which in places will take out the whole beach, leaving one screwed! This sounded like a fun challenge, and at 1:00 we left Quarteira along the boardwalk, cut through Vilamoura's marina, got to the edge of town and sure enough found a ...
... ocean on our right, we could see a dirt road surrounded by trees on the other side of the beach. We pushed our bikes through the soft sand, climbed up to the wooded area, then kept biking East. What a good decision! So beautiful! Rarely did we see a car. We stopped to pick tangerines. After 10 kilometers or so, we took a road away from the coast, then on to a pain-in-the-ass highway with little shoulder, and headed back towards Vilamoura. After a while, we saw a road ...

Historical Traveler Reviews Santa Eulalia Beach Club Albufeira
What a lovely time we had at the Santa Eulalia Aparthotel. The room was very spacious and clean enough. We were in room 410 which had a sea and pool view. The bath was needing replaced and only had a shower spray which goes every where. So take care or the bathroom will be flooded. The staff were very helpful & friendly, although one waiter who did the afternoon shift was always a bit moody. Not a lot of entertainment at night. and if you are not up early you won't get a sunbed.
Really nice place
Just returned from the above, stayed for two weeks. Apartment was clean and bedding and towels replaced twice per week. Nice bar and pool area. Ideal location for Old town visits and the entertainment of the famous 'Strip'only 5 mins walk.
Only complaint we had, was you have to get up very early to take claim to a sun bed around the pool. (No not Germans) people from Glasgow or Belfast seem to beleive they have the monopoly for the beds.
Excellent place if you have kids, and we would consider going back next year.
Could do with a clean!!!!
Our room was covered in long hairs, and under table was NEVER swept in 2 weeks. Maids only cleaned when they felt like it. The pool side was washed three times in 2 weeks, and plastic cups used to float in the pool from the previous night. Pool is open during the night, so unsuitable for young children to be left unattended in the bar in the evening, even to use the toilets, which are right next to the open access to the pool. Our balcony was covered in ants, which were all over any wet washing.
Have just returned from a week's holiday in Portugal. We stayed at the Santa eulailia apartments. We booked the holiday online and decided to go for this one as it was the right price! Wasn't to sure what to expect but was pleasantly surprised when we got there. The apartment was large and had all the ammenties you would expext from SC. The pool area was quite small doesnt look like it does in the picture but there is a lot of space around it to sunbathe. (as long as you don't mind getting up @ 6am to put your towels out!) The cleaners didn't do much apart from change the sheets- they didn't clean the kitchen but we didn't really use it so wasn't a problem!
I have just returned from a week (19th May - 26th May) and first of all the weather was incredible, very hot with 12 hours sunshine every day.
Nice Bar area
I thought that these apartments were a perfectly fine place to stay.
OK they are not 5 star but thats not what we paid for.
The bar/reception area area was large and modern and had a large screen for football games.
The pool was also big and clean enough.
The rooms were spacious and clean and our balcony had a nice view .
The only thing i would say is that the exterior could do with a lick of paint.
The location was good for the strip amenities and it was a taxi ride from the old town.
If you want a fairly inexpensive, clean, friendly hotel with all basic amenities this is for you.
My family and i have been going to the Santa Eulalia Aparthotel for the past 3 years and are going again next year. Although i agree with most comments, yes there is plenty of room for improvement in the hotel, my family has yet to have had a bad stay.
We had a great time
We had a great time, I agree the rooms were not great. But who goes on holiday to stay in the room 24/7. We had a room situated on the ground floor, looking over the pool. Which the kids loved. The staff were very friendly, espically Jose he was great. The kids club was brill my kids were fully entertained by two really great girls. The hotel location was ideal just 5 mins walk from everything you needed but not in the mist of things. I am definately going back next year!
Hotel was OK. Could have done with a general lick of paint and deep clean. To refer to kitchenette as "self catering" was a bit of a joke - two rings that take forever to heat up. Pool a bit small, but clean enough. pity that some teenage louts were making such displays of over boisterousness around the pool that it often became unsafe for small er children. Were told beforehand that hotel had a games room - this was an empty room which was closed for the summer. Bar was OK, with good services, but "entertainment" was pretty dire. Reception staff always polite and helpful, requests for extra bedding etc always dealt with promptly.
the hotel was not the cleanest and the rooms were only done when the maid felt like it,jose the bar man was the nicest person staff wise, he was very friendly and helpful etc, and francsico was the helpful one on the reception, he was the one who helped the mostrooms we had a stuido me and my two teenage children, not the smartest of furniture, the rooms need redecorating, as the walls look full of mould on room 224, the cooking facililtes need to be better than a 2 rings , bathroom facilites were fine, the rooms need to be cleanned better and more often, sheets to be changed once during your 7night stay, the towels should be every day, and more better crockery too, and plug in kettle, and a free toaster and television, and use of the telephone to be at a discounted rate if staying in the hotel, needs more decoration in the bar, and more offers of snacks to be availabe, and could offer more better enternainment, and a courtesy bus for visiting the algarve shopping malls, it could be such a better place, if all the nicer things were better, and to take solo too, every where else did to have an in house hairdresser, bistro facilietes, it has so much it couyld offer with the correct staff doing it,
