... us out of the water most of the time, it means our records of 50 throw an catch, 30 volley ball style hits and our bat and ball water record of 76 will probably not be beaten this year. We will have to try and remember them for next year!! Heading home tomorrow, or at least starting out journey, were currently about 1300 miles from home and 1000 from Calais so a good few days of driving ahead of us...the ferry is booked for Friday ...

... stadium there was loads of people about and all the lucky lucky men were put in their stalls selling scarves, shirts and all the rest of it.. I managed to resist and although Lorna was desperate for us to get max thing shirts, after me asking her what she would do with it wen we got home and she replied that she's use it for decorating in, that out and end to that and that was €50 saved!!! We managed to get tickets in a really good, they weren't quite ...

... in several debates in the following days as to which meal we enjoyed more, if such a distinction was even possible.

The chef checked on us several times during the meal, and I believe he enjoyed seeing how much we were enjoying ourselves, particular as we were the bulk of his clientele for the night. As I noted, we left well after 11:00pm. Perhaps more people came; who knows. I do know, however, that the memory of this meal will not soon -- if ever -- leave me.

... our van. It meant that every time you met a car coming in the opposite direction, if you could even see it coming around the bends, you would have to slow down and judge if the road was wide enough for you to pass. It made for rather harrowing driving, and not very relaxing -- at least for the driver (me).

After a breakfast far too large to justify, given the feast we'd had the night before, we loaded up and headed out to the hilltop citadel ...

As we passed through the church square, he warned me that I'd make a very sharp turn and that I'd have to "gun it" to make the final ascent. I was already regretting not having a manual transmission, to give me more torque. I made the turn quickly, to maintain momentum, but as I cut hard right to squeeze -- barely -- the van into the narrow channel, there was a loud crunching noise in back ...
