Gympie Noosa

Wey Hey! It's 26 degrees and the surf is up!! We are staying at a great location....it's like being in a tropical forest as our town house is surrounded by beautiful flora.....(she looks great in a bikini...only kidding!) and right next to the pool. We went to Sunshine Beach today which was great. They had warnings on the beach that: the waves are dumping there are sudden rips there are hidden pools We found them all, it does get a little scary at times as the waves are so big and you just ca...

Noosa

Woke up to hear the rain thundering overhead so we took our time getting up. We headed north and stopped at Coomba Beach where we decided to climb up Mount Coomba. At the bottom it said that this was only for serious walkers so we thought this would be alright after all we'd done quite a lot of walking recently. The first bit was fine and we were happy walking up steps and then we got to this bit where it was all rocks and we practically had to climb up on all fours, well I did as Loz was very...

Surf's up dudes

... and doing it at the right speed we headed back into the water. Jake the instructor dude gave me a push off for one of my first waves and bang up I went riding the wave all the way into the beach like a pro, this surfing lark is easy :) Well not quite after patting myself on the back for a bit he said now have a go at paddling myself on to a wave. This turned out to be super frustrating and harder than it looks, as its all about having a sixth sense and ...

1770, Rainbow Beach, Fraser Island & Noosa

... head which is at the far end of the island and rather high up. We were told previously that this was the best place to see whales, sharks, dolphins and mantarays so we all sat ontop of the rocky hill for around 45 minutes waiting to spot any. We did manage to see some whales and a mantaray and think maybe we saw saw dolphins in distance but no shark. As the high tide was at around half 1 in the afternoon this day we headed towards our next camp site and set up camp for the ...

Diving HMAS Brisbane and a ride in a campervan

... a reef but already is teeming with life and I would say in another 5-10 years will really be spectacular. The first dive ends and we head back into the wharf for out surface interval. Its too rocky to be out at sea for 1 hour and one girl is already suffering and hanging over the edge of the boat. They hand round croissants and tea and cookies which i refuse as im feeling a bit pukey (and i suspect i perhaps DO get seasick). We head back and do dive 2. Im ...

Noosa and the not so sunny coast

... most of the time but now thats its autumn here its getting distinctly chilly in the evenings. eventually tho, i did get itchy feet and whilst i didnt want to give up my room and cushy job, i had too otherwise i would have stayed there for the rest of my time in oz and i wouldnt see everything i wanted too. so on monday i packed up all my stuff (considerably more than when i arrived) and headed up on the bus to the sunshine coast about 3 hours north to a small town called maroochydore ...

Noosa Canoe Safari

... to hello's and dumped all her stuff on Flis' bed when she decided to make hers. That afternoon we headed to the beach to mess about in the surf which was good fun. This was interrupted when a really strange weather phenomena occurred, as a band of cloud no more than 50 meters wide and maybe 100m high, but stretching off into the horizon, rolled across the beach, looking very much like the national lottery "It's you!" finger. Quite spectacular. The ...

Jeep safari crazyness

... to the car in front our front two wheels were way off the floor!! We were all screaming in the back it was well scary! Anyway we got to the lake in one piece, with a few bumps and bruises as lapbelts don't really work that well on those roads, and we walked down the path to the lookout point over the lake. The view was amazing (pics - http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=1 4754&l=ab845& id=510031269 and http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=1 4757&l ...
