... So the money needs to be found in the budget and thus I didn't want to spend a lot of money at "tourist traps".

The Big Banana is one of them. We drove in to signs of tobogganing, ice skating, plantation tours and a water park. We took a couple of photos (mandatory!) and watched a demonstration of candy making before we left.

... Sandy was looking in the window. Many hugs and lots of talking followed as we sat in her lovely home. She hasn't changed a bit! If you know Sandy, and you live in Hobart, your ears must have been burning, as we discussed you all!!! We've booked into the Coffs Harbour Park Beach Holiday Park for the next 2 nights. ... arrived at our home for the next 2 nights. Unable to check in until 12pm we stored our luggage and headed out to explore the area, after a short walk along the beach we came across Coffs creek, a shallow tidal inlet creating an area for families to bath, canoe, and relax. ... so upbeat and organised. We sailed out to Whitehaven beach first. We had to get in the jog and get dropped off on the far side of the island and walk over. I tell you the lookout they have there gives you the most amazing view. The whiteness of the sand (its so white it reflects the heat)and the colours of the water are breathtaking!! You then notice all the black aliens dotted on the beach but realise its people in stinger suits, sexy!! Brit got us to pose for loads ...
