... 8217;s an unorganised (as far as we can tell), migration of school
leavers to mostly the Beach towns mostly, the gold coast to party for a week.
Seems to be for year 12s, and they have just broke up school today. Pics
everywhere of these teens running into the surf, to celebrate, oh and there are
school blouses and shirts, ripped off too. Conveniently the girls are wearing
bikini tops, lol!! Now some of the tamer ones do come ...
... massive but before looking around sought out the food stalls. We found a little French food stall and bought almond croissants and coffees which were so nice! Next we looked around the stalls- there was no tat, just 100%25 trinkets. We could've spent a fortune there, there was so much lovely stuff! We settled on a few bits of jewellery and some food from a Seychelles food stall. After spending the whole morning at the market before heading off for The Sunshine ...
A pretty quiet day was had today. We tried to get a morning sleep into Oscar so didn't leave home til late. We did find a nice little lookout just near Charlene's house that had views over Noosa which was lovely. We didn't get to the top though as it was a bit hard to get there with the kids, and that was supposed to have 360 degree views of the area, so we will have to go back when we are a bit more prepared. We then headed into Noosaville and wandered along the river for a bit ...
... the movie!! Ouch! The movie was good though and it was nice to have a mindless activity for a couple hours. We then walked back to the hostel to head to bed.
We asked what we should do tomorrow and it was suggested to go on the coastal walk. It takes three hours or so but you get to see all the local beaches and it's free! So we are off on another nature walk tomorrow morning.
... and the markets didn't take long to become busy. Thousands of people were out enjoying the wonderful atmosphere & sights of the twice weekly markets. They are massive. We bought a few essentials like beachy clothes, hand made jewellery and natural potions and enjoyed walking along the Main Street which is very quaint & historic. It was definitely time for a swim in the pool here at the park when we got back, ...
