Caught a taxi about 15 minutes away from our hotel to Ma'am Rhodora's church. It is the United Church of Christ of the Philippines. As you see from the photo it was a Presbyterian Church until they, the Methodist and others amalgamated. Still had a very Presbyterian feel with its choir and liturgy. We laughed when our guide called it Beverly Hills, because we thought that’s just what they called it, but when we got there, they actually had a sign that said welcome to Beverly Hills. Beverly Hills is the only high end sub division in Cebu. The cheapest houses are around $550 ...

    Stopover in Cebu ...

... and worked out way over towards the Cebu R Hotel (very nice, recommended).

We also met up with our friend Sophie, who was also diving with Quiver on Perhentian Kecil and was going to join us on the trip up to Malapascua (the more the merrier). We didn't do much in Cebu (other than eat Shakey's as often as possible), this was an orientating stop before heading back to island living. ...
