For the afternoon we decide to go to the city center of Dubai and see
the Burj Kalifa – the world’s highest building, 854 m’s high. It’s amazing to
stand beneath this building and not being able to even see the highest floors
because it becomes so little at the top.

... us to one of their famous brunches, so we headed to the Marriott Hotel just a 5 min walk away into the Marina and experienced a massively indulgent brunch with all the best food and drink you could ask for. Wowza – it would probably be easier to say what we DIDN’T eat instead of list what we did. I tried oysters for the first time, we had lobster, salmon, prawns, roast dinner, roast belly pork, let alone the salads and other foods etc, etc etc… Like I said ...

Nach dem Frühstück machten wir uns auf zu unserem Concierce um den Mietwagen in Empfang zunehmen. Während die Formalitäten erledigt wurden bekamen wir von Johannes (Guest Service vom Hotel)…dem alten Berliner…noch gute Tipps, was wir uns in Dubai ansehen sollten und wie wir mit der Metro am besten dorthin kommen würden. Johannes brachte uns dann auch den Starbucks-Tourismus näher :)
