When I came back to check on my checkin status, they said I still had to wait another 15 minutes till at least 8:45pm, which would have made it impossible to use one of the free showers I got with my Priority Pass after departure immigration. Was good to see some Accenture people we haven't seen for ages, including Neen's old flatmate CJ, and Millie who she worked with in Manchester. The drinks finished at 8 and by then we hadn't eaten for about 12 hours and were starvin marvins so we headed to Dubai Marina with Millie and CJ for an alfresco Lebanese dinner which was ...

I realise we have been a bit rubbish about keeping people up to date about what we've been doing, so I thought I would try a travel blog. So if you are interested in what we've been up to read on, if not look away now.

First stop is Dubai. The main aim of this visit is to catch up with my good friend Helen Boland, who deserted me when I worked at the Wirral and prompted me to plan this trip!

We had a tour of the ...
