Time to take a day off from the theme parks and eating! After a lazy morning, we wander through the resort to the main house and get a water taxi to Downtown Disney. Ethan is determined to visit the Lego Store and Andy has his eye on the House of Blues (the restaurant started by Dan Ackroyd playing on his part in the Blues Brothers) and the Harley Davidson store. It is nice to just potter around with no scheduled rides, fast passes or reservations. ...

Following on from writing my blog last night we all went to the opening reception at Disney's Hollywood Studios; we were picked up from the hotel by shuttle buses and as we arrived there were hundreds of coaches lined up. Kimberly Clark had sponsored the event so we had the whole park to ourselves, they had also put in extra food venues and DJs around the park and it was all complimentary. ... cute and my salad was delicious. I really wanted to try the Oooey Gooey Toffee Pudding that everyone raved about on the internet. It was really good. We had reservations at 1900 Park Fare at the Grand Florian for the character buffet at 6:10 and made our way over there. We arrived early so we sat in the lobby and listened to the beautiful live piano and the jazz band. They did a great job. The piano man played Somewhere Over the Rainbow and a song from Phantom ...

... it took forever for my pants to dry! Then lunch, which pleasantly surprised us. They are choosing healthier options at disney now, so kids nuggets came with carrot sticks and grapes and juice, not soda. John and I got honey chicken which had lots of veggies in it and didn't taste too bad. Tree of life was next, which I remembered from last time. It is amazing and fun to find all the different animals they have put in it. "It's Tough to be a Bug" 4d show was really fun, ...

    Day 13: House/Pool Day

... to be the hottest day so far for us, so I don't mind staying at the house so we can re hydrate and recharge our batteries. Will probably go out mini-golfing and hit Old Town tonight as I'm sure we'll need to get out of the house at some point. Laundy machines are going all day today too, thanks to Tracy - the laundry person of the family.
