... the governance (more on that later) all feel like they are *from* Texas. One standout- a fellow I spoke with in Austin who said "I'm not from Texas- I'm from Austin". The Texas sound is a good one. Say what you will about Texas politics (not a fan) the music is terrific. From honky tonk to electric blues- this is a state that has a great sound.

... and playing like a lot of bands do. After the military tribute, they played "The Eyes of Texas" as a tribute to Darrell Royal. It was a very nice moment, and the Texas fans all held up the Hook 'em Horns hand signal while singing along. The band had a very clear tone, but this is a hard stadium to fill with sound. I would have liked a bit more volume. Rating - 9 of 10

... the planet from Rigby the evil cat, ate some of Lynn's incredible breakfast tacos - so strange having egg and bacon in a tortilla but surprisingly good - and before we knew it it was evening and lynn had arranged a birthday dinner for a friend of theirs, where Joel was going to cook. ... when I realised it was seafood night – but we both chose Seafood Cascade. White fish cooked in a white wine sauce with shrimps, served in creamed mashed potato with spring onions, with sweet potato crisps on the top and pesto around the outside. It was gorgeous!
