... back to our campsite (at Dutch Charlie) to cook dinner wasn’t so bad. Our site overlooked the Cimmaron and Sneffels Mountain Ranges (part of the San Juans). They were snow-capped and glowed beautifully at sunset. At dusk the birds flew all around us. It was so nice to be a part of such tranquility. A series of trails allowed us to take the dogs on walks. They had a renewed vigor that was infectious. This place made me yearn to hike. We could stay here ...

Today, we'll make one final loop through the San Juan Mountains and San Juan National Forest, before returning to Ouray for a second night. We begin the day by riding 10 miles north to Ridgway, then turning southwest on CO-62 for 23 miles toward Placerville, originally established as a small mining camp. ... time when it was a mining town and if you worked there it was said your trip was To Hell You Ride. One of the coldest spots in Colorado with a 9000 foot elevation, but the people who go there now do not mind it at all. Visited a few shops and looked at cowboy boots. 50% off! Price tag said $25...wow! Uh, $25 hundred dollars. Didn't buy the boots.

Enjoy the pictures. Many with explanations.

... up in the wee hours of the morning and having to be at the airport at 6.30am.

All in all, it was a great time in Colorado. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and the company. To anyone that is going to be in or is thinking of going to Colorado you’ll have an awesome time. Head out to Montrose and go to the “Two Rascals Brewery” due to open in the middle third of this year. Look them up on Facebook to view of some of the photos of the work in ...
