... the highest point on the Island. This gave us impressive views of the coastline either side of us with a 50 metre sheer drop to the ocean below us. We also managed to see a couple of whales again, this time a little bit closer! The next destination was a shipwreck on the beach of an old six-storey cruise ship. The ship was lost by the Japanese as they tried to bring it back to their country from Sydney but were hit by terrible weather. The wreck has been destroyed ...

... and were quite impressed as we drove up the highway, minus the rear bumper that was hanging off but this was soon fixed with a bit of duct tape.. classy campers.

... been here before on prior trips. The iced coffee
was to die for, you added you own amount of coffee syrup from a little jug. Rest
of it was milk and ice-cream.

Also spotted a cool split window Vw kombi, which we had
counted before, but this time managed to put it on film. Nice paint job.

As I sit here on our balcony I recall the many kombis we had
seen as well as the mystery cars, so I hope you had as much fun as we did! J

Nearly 30 hours to get home. Wasn't too bad - 2 stops, one in Helsinki for 3 hours, and one in Singapore for 5 hours. 28 degrees when we left Brisbane airport at 7am Thursday morning. Took a week to get used to the humid weather again!! Friday saw as travelling again, this time an over-nighter at Cooloola Cove to pick up our little doggy Dougie, who had also been on a little ...
