    Aspen March 2015

... weather in Aspen which caused the delay. I called my lodging, the Annabelle Inn to pick me up at the airport since transfers are included in your rate, as they are at many Aspen/Snowmass properties. Prior to my arrival they said that if they were unable to accommodate a pickup (due to arrival before or after front desk hours etc), they would reimburse the cost of a High Mountain Taxi. Anyway, I was in luck and they were able to pick me up ...

... Cafe. Obviously the best value place to eat/drink as it is packed every evening. Happy hour is 3-6pm and great value. Local microbrewery beers on tap. Colorado Amber Ale is a favourite of ours. Their Bowl of Chilli is hot, warming and filling. The burgers are fantastic (better than Two Moos), Enchiladas tasty but not sure about the orange cheese, Nachos is superb - a generous portion that well and truly satisfied us for less than $10!

    7. USS Midway Museum in San Diego Harbor. I toured this with Steve Baird and Neil Riley while Neil's son Daniel was rehabbing from grevious wounds suffered as a Marine in Afganistan. I know now that retired naval vessels are being converted to floating museums across the country, and this one was an extremely enjoyable day. Surrounded by other naval vessels we also toured (including the ...
