We started the morning exploring the east face of Steamboat to find the most spectacular views and some beautifully pitched runs. These new demo skis are the real deal. Love them, and decided not to switch them for our third and final day tomorrow. They make everything easy and quick to bail out of trouble in tough stuff. I had 50 min to make the connection, which was a good thing as my carry on bags were heavy and I had to go from gate 20 something to 60. Typically when I fly from Denver to Hayden the flight is always late-- for once the plane was there and we were able to depart on time. The flight to Hayden lasts only ...

... to earlier settlers, but construction and blasting for the railroad silenced the spring way back in 1908.

Last photo is looking towards the back side of the mountain, this is not open yet, but chatting to a ski patrol guy on the lift Wed, he said it should be Friday, in the local paper today it has been confirmed that tomorrow morning pretty much the whole mountain will be open. This will be some 2700 acres of skiable area. The 2 runs in this photo ...
