Historical Traveler Reviews Celadon Beach Resort Panama City Beach
We stayed here for 5 nights after being evacuated from Destin due to Katrina. ResortQuest did an excellent job with our reservations at the last minute. We had a one bedroom condo, which was very clean and nicely decorated. Both pools' were very clean and the staff was very accomodating. Overall a very good stay. The beach was clean and the beach service was free to guests. I would definitely stay here again!
Celadon Just O.k. w/me
Well I have to say the condo we had was very spacious and nicely decorated. The balcony was wonderful! Great Views of the gulf! Having beach chairs that we didn't have to pay for, was nice also. The problem was the smell in the room. It smelled very very musty. The master bedroom carpet was wet. Notified the office of this and they sent a person up from the staff to look at it. They decided to put new padding under the carpet, but knocked over the armiore in the bedroom, making a huge dent in the T.V. We had a plan to use the pull out bed in the sofa, but couldn't get it all the way out or folded back in. It was broken and someone had to come and fix this before we could use the couch. Also the door didn't lock very well. So it was a constant struggle to keep the door locked. Wasn't happy about the walk-over either. Had to park in garage across the street and then haul all of the stuff across the walkover. Then you had to wait for the elevators. They weren't very fast. Not so sure that it was worth all of the money we spent there. Will probably look into another place to stay next time!!
Celadon was perfect!
My husband and I stayed at the Celadon for a week, and it was one of the most beautiful condos we have ever stayed in! Our condo was decorated beautifully and was very clean. The building is a high-rise, which allowed for amazing views of the Gulf. We enjoyed being on the far west end of Panama City Beach because it was much less crowded. The parking garage was a plus, as my car was always nice and shaded from the Florida heat. I would recommend the Celadon, and we hope to return again soon!!
Enjoyed Celadon, Beach & Panama City area
My family stayed at the Celadon in July 2005. Celadon Condos were fantastic, pools were great. We will be going back. No complaints.
First time at Celadon and will be going back!!!!
My family and I stayed at Celadon Beach July 4th week. This has got to be the nicest condo I have ever stayed. We had a 3 bedroom 3 bath on the 20th floor. The view was amazing. I really don't know how the managment is because we booked through an owner on ------ and saved money big time. The two pools are beautiful and the fitness room is pretty good too. You don't even have to pay for the beach chairs on the beach. All you have to do is get a little pass from the office and take it to the guys working on the beach. We had one bad day of weather from Cindy during our stay, but it didn't ruin it for us. We went to the indoor pool and found a large amount of shells on the beach. There is plenty to do for all ages at Celadon beach. I would recommend this place to anyone.
Love the Celadon!!
Celadon is a great place to stay, very friendly people. The amenities are great, free beach chair rentals, 2 pools and 2 hot tubs, fitness center and a game room for the kids.
I thought the walk over to the parking deck was great it saves lots of time when you want to cross the street. Our room was excellent, very very clean and had everything in it I needed. I will definately be going back to Celadon.
Nothing to complain about
This was well worth the trip to Florida !!!!!!! Our condo was clean, spacious and so comfortable. The view from our private balcony (from the living room to the master bedroom) was beautiful ! Our kids had there own private bedrooms ! 2 bathrooms, kitchen with everything you would ever need, comfortable living room ! Definately a place to relax and enjoy we will return !!!!!!!!!!!!
Very bad experience
Me and my 13-year old daughter and her friend rented through owners in March 2005. We were on the 18th floor and even though there were three elevators, it took a very long time to get an elevator every day. I was very disappointed in what was available for young people. The game room was across the road from the hotel and there were few things there for the girls to do. Even though you pay for "beach service", it was still first come, first serve. The cabana boy was very rude. We did not have an iron in our unit (standard in most places). I had to go out and buy an iron to use. Minor inconveniences if these were my only complaints. However, what made this not so good vacation even worse was the shock I received when I did not receive all of my deposit back from the owners. First of all, they or the cleaning people charge a $75 cleaning fee. This is NOT standard especially for a one bedroom!! Then they charged me an additional $30 for cleaning because of "excess garbage" and "used condoms on the floor". (Not sure if I can say that here but that's what the note said) We went by the book to make sure all trash was picked up and taken out. There was absolutely no excess garbage or used condoms as there was only me and the young girls. I was very offended and upset that the owners took my word against the cleaning crew who is very obviously dishonest and probably run this scan many, many times. It's my word against their's but I was very offended and upset and it definitely turned a not so good experience into a bad one. I have told family and friends about this experience and have suggested they not stay at the Celadon because the cleaning crew cannot be trusted and obviously the owners do not care because a telephone call and an email did not provoke a response.
WHAT A FIND!! We traveled with neighbors to this great condo. It was very clean and our unit was decorated in a very cool "African" type of theme. Very tasteful and neat with beautiful furniture. Our neighbors had a "beach" type of theme and they loved it, too! The pool on the condo side of the street was very nice with bathrooms about 5 steps from the water (which is great for the kids!)
The beach was so clean and we were given a pass to use each morning to check out our 2 beach chair loungers w/umbrella each day at no charge.
The tunnel leading to the other side of the road is so handy with no worries of the kids around the traffic. We used that pool often as well, and the club house was very nice. We were treated to an Easter Egg hunt (that they moved indoor due to the rain......great prizes and still so nice!) They offered videos and DVDs to borrow from the lobby.
We would most definately return to the Celadon. It was conveniently located and away from the higher traffic areas. With a quick jump up to Back Beach Road, you will miss all the traffic and get where you're going much quicker. We were here on Spring Break and didn't notice the normal noise and craziness of the younger crowd. We just didn't feel crowded at all. Someone even found this area nice enough to hold a wedding on the beach, which we watched from our balcony.
My only advice would be about the elevators. Sometimes a bit of an annoying wait (we were on the 4th floor....units 403 & 404), but we just got in the habit of one of us running ahead to hit the button. Not a big deal overall.
While in PC Beach, don't miss the Sea Dragon Pirate Cruise for the kids (adults enjoy it , too!) And don't miss this condo....THE CELADON!
Celadon is the best!!!
I have never written one of these. We stayed at Celadon Beach Resort in a 1 bedroom unit in August of 2004. The unit was absolutely gorgeous. It was decorated with lighthouses throughout. I agree with everything the previous poster said about Celadon. However, she thought the parking garage was an inconvenience. I thought it was a lifesaver. When it comes a downpour, the garage keeps you from getting wet. Florida seems to have the huge afternoon thunderstorms, at times. You could drive straight into the covered garage, through the covered walkway, and to the elevator. I loved it. I thought the prices were much more reasonable than what I have paid for other places in the past. I will definitely be going back there.

We realized we were pretty close to the condo we had rented a month ago when in Kissimmee and thought that perhaps the book we ordered and hadn't arrived by the time we left had come and they still had it. Sure enough when we called they had it and 10 minutes later we had it in hand and headed off again further north through the interior of Florida. Over the years when we have traveled ...
Miles driven so far = 11,155
We have been "lounging" here on the white sand beaches for past few days. We drove 424 miles from Savannah on north Georgia coast down through Jacksonville then across thru Tallahassee (Florida State University) over to pan handle then south to Grayton Beach State Park which is 40 miles NW of Panama City.

... stronger as the night went on. It was hard trying to leave because as soon as someone heard our accents they always wanted to know where we were from and all seemed impressed with our drive across country.Things really fell apart when the barmaid shouted the bar with something she called Liquid Marijuana. Thats all i've got to say on that but a good night was had by all.
