As this event is a precursor to the World Championships here in Feb 2015 there were many more sponsors tents and promotions than at Aspen. We visited them all and came away with a bag of goodies - champagne stoppers, key rings, luggage tags, stickers, t shirt, toe warmers, lip balms, several cowbells, picnic rugs, posters and a supply of breakfast/ muesli ...
... where the skiers will exceed 40m of air. They will need legs of steel!

Really was a repeat of Wednesday. An overcast day with some flat light made skiing a little challenging. In some ways we have spoilt ourselves at home as we really only ski bluebird days now. However when you only have 2 days and Beaver Creek is on your doorstep then you ski no matter what the conditions. So we did! The sun broke through the cloud late afternoon ...
It was farewell to the lovely town of Aspen today and time to move on to our next stop, Beaver Creek. We hired a car for the two hour drive as we wanted to take our time to see some of the amazing scenery of the Glenwood Canyon.
Glenwood Canyon is a rugged scenic 20km stretch of highway on the Colorado River. Its canyon walls climb nearly 400m on both sides. The Interstate 70 highway follows the river as it snakes its way through the Canyon. ...

Ran into these two beautiful dogs waiting for their master outside a shop. Had to stop and pat them - actually we couldn't walk past as one of them blocked our path until we did pat him. We also have seen this bird around Aspen as well. Found out he is a Black Billed Magpie. Different to our magpies in Australia especially as they have very long tails. However they still have ...

After two huge days on the hill it was good to have a quiet evening. A couple of delightful Californian Pinot Noirs in front of the fire was a lovely way to finish one of the most exciting weekends we have experienced. To think we do it all again with the men next weekend in Beaver Creek! Bring it On!!
